Anderson Cooper

Anderson Cooper was born on June 3rd 1967 in New York City. He was the younger son of the actress, artist and heiress Gloria Vanderbilt and the writer Wyatt Cooper. He began his television career early, when he appeared on the Tonight Show with his mother at the age of three.
At the age of 20, he lost both his father and brother. But he was fortunate enough to grow up in a family that placed an importance in reading and writing. His parents hired a special reading instructor who helped by encouraging him to find books that he was passionate about. Despite his losses and a mild form of dyslexia, which made him see some letters backwards, Copper succeeded in school.
He graduated from the private school Dalton School and later on Yale University. He then on went to follow his career as a journalist.
He interned at the Central Intelligence Center for two summers. Later on getting a correspondent position for ABC News in 1995 and then an anchor post at CNN. Today he is one of the most recognizable people on television, hosting his own news program, Anderson Cooper 360. He also hosted his own talk show Anderson Live until May 2013. He reported Princess Diana's funeral due to the earthquake in Haiti. This led him to winning 5 Emmy awards. Cooper did not allow his personal tragedies or his dyslexia to stand in his way of success.
